Job Summary:

Lead in the development, design, coordination and implementation of the WSIB's Inclusive Culture strategy in support of the goals and objectives to build and maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce. Act as lead on strategy development, stakeholder engagement and approvals; including the development of an implementation roadmap of new/revised inclusion programs and practices within an already existing positive culture.

Major Responsibilities:

Research, design, develop and implement an enterprise-wide, integrated inclusive culture strategy and subsequent programming:

  • Ensure industry best practices considered in the strategy development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure consistency and identify opportunities for integration of programs, products and services related to inclusive culture
  • Develop and enhance resources, tools and learning offerings in collaboration with key partners such as Skills Development,  Leadership and Talent Management and OCEU
  • Provide advice to support leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of the inclusive culture strategy as an input into the strategic plan and annual business planning
  • Partner with the Communications division in the development and distribution of consistent organizational communications that align to the strategy

Develop, implement and oversee the evaluation of programs related to the WSIB's inclusive culture strategy:

  • Monitor program evaluation and measurement plans for inclusive culture initiatives
  • Develop tools and processes to measure and monitor initiatives to ensure targets are met and/or ensure continuous improvement and program effectiveness
  • Provide insight, data and analytics related to the progress of the strategy implementation and associated programming
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership based on evaluations of programs/initiatives to ensure ongoing improvement of the inclusive culture strategy

Work closely with the volunteer Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) council at the WSIB as a dedicated HR partner to ensure alignment of the council mandate to the enterprise strategy:

  • Utilize the council membership and knowledge as a working group and input into the development of the inclusive culture strategy
  • Provide insight and recommendations into the annual council action plan to align with the current status of the organizational strategy
  • Maintain a wide professional network to keep current on culture program trends, developments and best in class practices
  • Help to promote and develop internal employee resource groups                     

Provide technical advice and expertise to senior leadership on matters related to culture, inclusion, diversity and equity:

  • Attend meetings and give presentations on topics related to inclusive culture and the development of the strategy
  • Provide subject matter expertise and act as the HR lead for a range of diversity related initiatives already established in the organization such as AODA and the Mental Health and Wellness programs

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
                                                     
Job Requirements:

1) Education requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. applied behavioural sciences, human resources management, social sciences)
  • Master's level degree is preferred but not essential
  • CHRL and PMP considered an asset

2) Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience within a diversity and inclusion role, demonstrated specialized knowledge of employment equity, diversity and inclusion principles and best practices, strategy development, proven communication and presentation skills with employees and senior leaders.
  • Experience in strategy development, implementation and measurement at a like organization, superior communication and presentation skills with all levels in an organization is preferred
