POSITION: Human Resources Generalist - 12 month contract

REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources & Corporate Communications
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing value-added professional HR advice and counsel to people leaders and employees across an assigned business area.
Major Responsibilities
•Acts as a first point of contact for all Human Resources related issues including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, compensation, benefits, attendance management, disability, employee relations and performance management.
•Provide a forum for communication that fosters an environment of trust and cooperation.
•Facilitate effective communication of all HR programs & initiatives.
•Manages internal investigations and employee issues including working with the company lawyer to resolve complex cases.
•Manage end to end recruitment process (sourcing/posting, behavioral based interviewing) and work with line management to assess recruitment needs and determine the best source of recruiting candidates
•Maintain web tickets including new hires, terminations, employee changes, organizational management.
Qualifications
•A university degree in business along with a specialization in or a professional Human Resource designation.
•Knowledge of Employment law and Provincial Employment Standards required.
•5+ years of professional experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner capacity
•CPG experience preferred. HR Manufacturing experience in a unionized environment an asset.
•Capable of appropriately handling highly confidential documents and information.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
•Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
•Ability to take initiative, learn new concepts and adapt to changes.
•Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
•Strong Computer Skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP. Taleo Enterprises and LinkedIn Recruiter an asset.
