If so, become an Initial Review Officer with the Ministry of Labour’s Pay Equity Office where you will enforce pay equity rights and obligations through effective case management. You will promote gender economic equality through research and education for Ontario's working women.
Please note: This position may require travel throughout the province
What can I expect to do in this role?
As an Initial Review Officer, you will:
• ensure quality service for a high volume of monitoring files and cases.
• analyze and review pay equity data, financial and non-financial information from employers and employees to monitor and resolve standard pay equity disputes.
• conduct investigations and meetings to achieve pay equity compliance.
• issue notices on contravention of pay equity.
• respond to general inquiries, offer guidance and advice to employees, employers and unions.
• work on special projects as assigned.

How do I qualify?
Pay Equity Knowledge and Skills
• You understand the spirit and intent of pay equity and have the ability to prepare case reports.
• You understand theories and principles of equitable pay and related legislation.
• You have some familiarity with the labour relations and employee-employer relations process.
Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• You can identify trends and analyze results.
• You can resolve problems and files.
• You can conduct research and undertake investigations.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills
• You can communicate and mediate with parties, including employers, employees and unions on files.
• You can write concise reports, notices of decisions, orders and order summaries.
Project Management and Computer Skills
• You have strong project and time management skills to prioritize demands.
• You can use case management databases and office software (e.g. MS Office, Outlook, and Internet).
Salary: $66,055 - $95,181 per year
