Human Resources Generalist

Jablonsky Ast and Partners is a leading Consulting Engineering firm located in Toronto, Ontario. As a result of our ongoing success and growth, we are looking to recruit a Human Resources Generalist. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will establish and lead our human resources program by providing the full range of HR services. This new position will appeal to the experienced HR professional who is attracted by the challenges and rewards in creating a new department and operating in a hands-on, stand alone role. Key Responsibilities:

• Complete the full cycle of recruitment activities.
• Maintain and administer competitive wage and salary practices and benefit programs.
• Co-ordinate the performance appraisal program and provide coaching and counsel to support and enable the attainment of organizational and employee goals. This includes working with management and staff in the development, implementation, monitoring and follow up of formal individual work improvement plans.
• As initial point of contact on all employment related matters, provide guidance and support on a variety of issues including, but not limited to, HR policy compliance, attendance management, disability and return to work procedures, conflict resolution and progressive discipline.
• Audit existing HR Policies and practices and recommend revisions and new policies. Create HR procedures and communications to support and  ensure compliance with HR policies across the organization.
• Work with management in identifying employee data and metrics that are required to be tracked, collected, stored and reported on and implement and maintain an appropriate Human Resource Management System to satisfy such needs.
• Identify training and development needs across the organization and recommend inhouse and/or third party solutions and programs to meet needs.
• Direct and monitor the Occupational Health And Safety program to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.

Requirements:

• University degree or college diploma, preferably in Business, Human Resources or Social Sciences.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an HR Generalist role.
• Solid working knowledge of Ontario employment and workplace legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to act with tact, discretion and in a confidential manner as required.
• Hands on HRMS experience as well as proficiency in MS Office and/or Office 365.
• CHRP certification a definite asset.
