Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Advisor Intern will support the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Officers in all areas of the department including labour relations, health and safety, worker wellbeing, human resource planning, compensation, training and development, and human resource policy.
Interns will experience a full-scope of human resource services and will be provided with the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced and certified human resource professionals. The organization is a unionized work environment and employs 280 employees in over 60 positions.
This opportunity is made possible with a grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC). In addition to the requirements of Public Health Sudbury & Districts (Agency), eligible candidates must meet the criteria of the NOHFC.
Agency Eligibility Requirements:
- Candidates must be graduates of post-secondary degree or diploma programs, with a preference in human resources, or related field with Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation candidacy.
- Previous experience in coordinating projects.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and part of the team.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.
- Must have strong research, observation and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint).
- Articulate Storyline and SharePoint Software experience considered an asset.
NOHFC Candidate Criteria:
- University and college graduates who have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. Candidates must be graduates of post-secondary degree or diploma programs.
- The position must provide the intern with first time employment in their field of study.
- Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time.
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
