Job Description:

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist who will be responsible for carrying out the human resources, payroll and benefits administration functions of the firm.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Administer the full employment cycle from recruitment through off boarding
  • Coordinate employee performance management and compensation systems
  • Administer payroll and benefits
  • Assist with annual benefits program review
  • Manage compliance with employment legislation
  • Maintain the firm’s human resources policies and procedures, updating as required to comply with changes in legislation and firm policies
  • Maintain staff skills inventory and gap analyses
  • Maintain professional staff accreditation records
  • Administer human resources management, talent and succession development strategies, practices and processes
  • Manage health and safety and wellness program initiatives
  • Act as confidential resource to all levels of staff and management in a diverse environment, responding to general inquiries, problems or process concerns (written or oral), either one-on-one or in group formats
  • Exercise discretion and judgment with regards to highly confidential and sensitive issues and materials
  • Assist in the selection, design, implementation and maintenance of the firm’s human resources management solutions, including acting as a system super user
  • Produce statistical reports for management when needed
  • Liaise with firm management and social committee on employee engagement and culture initiatives
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • CHRP or CHRL designation
  • Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits administration experience (at least 5 years), ideally in a professional services environment
  • Knowledge of legislation pertaining to employment in Ontario
  • Thorough understanding of HR best practices, talent management concepts, strategic programs and Human Resources Management Systems
  • Ability to maintain, in strictest trust, confidential information
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills
  • Be able to work independently, have strong organizational abilities
  • Excellent computer skills and strong attention to detail
