Empire is seeking an intuitive, high-judgment, and self-motivated communications professional to join the Talent Management team supporting Empire Human Capital. The position will provide support for North America various strategic talent and change management initiatives through clear, factual communications that embolden Empire’s C.A.R.E. values. The individual will provide strategic communication counsel and collaborate with cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics. You will be accountable to coordinate message management across various channels.
Success in this role will require effective strategy development and management of the North American internal HC communications for Empire. This will include messaging development, distribution processes and supporting specific HC projects as needed. You will need to distill information to find common threads between projects and be energized by juggling priorities. This role requires the ability to keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate employee questions/reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies.
Communication Strategy & Tools
Collaborate and take direction from Brand & Culture Manager to create communication plans; own execution, management, and implementation of communications plans for internal initiatives, special projects, and campaign style rollouts
Consult with related teams and stakeholders to identify and analyze communication needs by regions; audience groups and Divisions
Assist with setting project goals, priorities and timeframes, help identify communication requirements
Draft and manage Talent Management/HC internal communications ensuring that scheduled tasks; projects and initiatives are successfully completed and strategically timed
Participate in change management communication planning and implementation
Create and manage foundational communication templates/digital mediums (videos; infomercials; vlogs etc.) for HC announcements, leadership communication and company-wide HC announcements
Brand & Culture
Develop a deep understanding of our business and employee base, and ensure Empire brand & culture is reflected in internal communications
Drive communication strategies around educating and engaging employees on the company’s strategy and employment / career growth opportunities
Provide communications support for HC Talent Programs and priority initiatives including the development of our Dayforce Self Service System
Digital Communications
Design, curate and create Human Capital owned employee content for the intranet
Led by the Brand & Culture Manager to work with function/project leads to design and execute innovative, attention-getting campaigns around internal initiatives across a range of emerging internal & external social media platforms/channels
Partner with special project teams as an internal communications subject matter expert, designing and implementing communication plans that educate and engage our employees.
Qualifications/Skills Desired and Preferred
Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or a related field
5-8 years of experience in Human Resources communication or recruitment marketing role
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with management-level and above
Ability to work with a variety of internal partners and manage time effectively
Ability to work and manage projects autonomously
Employment value proposition experience a plus
SharePoint experience a plus
Strong writing skills, including the ability to write in different styles to reflect the nature of the stakeholder, audience, and message
Experience with current web practices, supporting technologies, new media; video & audio production
Project management skills and demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong computer skills to include advanced use of Word, PowerPoint or other relevant communications software
Strong oral and written communication skills.
