You are passionate about helping organizations navigate significant internal change and have a proven track record in leading, advising and building a positive learning and workplace culture, that increases engagement, and integrates equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in all organizational programs and activities. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and serve on the newly formed EDI Advisory Council. You will help build organizational structures (direct and indirect) to drive necessary changes in Ivey’s culture and support the strategy renewal.

What you’ll do:
1. Strategic Vision and Planning

  • Serve as a key advisor to the Dean and collaborate closely with members of the School’s senior leadership team and the EDI Advisory Council to develop long-term community engagement and EDI goals.
  • Lead the implementation, planning and execution for established EDI and community engagement goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies that impact community culture, engagement and EDI and advise on new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans to ensure community engagement and EDI goals and programming reflect experiences, collective expertise, and needs of the broader Ivey community.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations outside of the School to help further its engagement and EDI goals.
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop and implement communications strategies and content management for training, web resources, social media and print materials to support increased employee engagement and EDI initiatives.

3. Program Development and Implementation

  • Build and be accountable for new EDI and engagement programs including training for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Collaborate with School and University departments to support strategic hiring and retention efforts to attract and retain a highly talented, diverse workforce.
  • Partner with relevant program offices to help develop and measure student recruitment strategies at the undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral level to meet EDI goals in academic programs.
  • Serve as an internal resource to faculty, staff, and students, on engagement and EDI topics including the support of formal and ad hoc curriculum reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to support fundraising for engagement and EDI initiatives, including relevant scholarships.

4. Analysis and Reporting

  • Partner with Human Resources to evaluate the results of staff engagement and climate surveys and develop solutions to achieve a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and engaged faculty and staff environment.
  • Oversee the analysis and presentation of internal and external EDI-related data; use data to effectively show status against internal goals and external benchmarks, report progress, and inform decision-making.


What you have:
Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as equity, diversity & inclusion, sociology, business administration, human resources or public administration.
  • Minimum of eight years of professional background in organizational culture development or change management, with demonstrated experience in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in a complex organization.
  • The position requires a broad range of EDI and organizational development experience and competencies including strong experience in organizational change, communications, influencing without direct authority, strategic analysis, thinking and planning, organizational effectiveness, creative problem-solving, and consulting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience driving organizational change, including a track record of strategic planning and program implementation.
  • Proven ability to take a consultative approach, build strong collaborative relationships, influence key stakeholders, and gain consensus to achieve deliverable.
  • Demonstrated expertise building collaborations between academic, corporate and/or internal stakeholders across all functions.
  • Proven ability to support and empower leaders who are less experienced in leading conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion to build the school’s capacity in EDI leadership.
  • Expert communication skills, specifically as it relates to communicating to a variety of internal and external stakeholders about EDI issues
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to provide oversight for assessments related to employee engagement and EDI.
  • Maintenance of professional development to ensure currency with research, trends, and best practices related to organizational culture, employee engagement, and EDI issues.

Position Type: This is a full-time 3-year renewable contract with full benefits.
