We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager in Mississauga to oversee the execution of our HR initiatives in their assigned facilities in order to ensure compliance with federal and provincial laws and regulations. This includes investigating and resolving associate concerns and conflicts and the administration of people systems. In addition, this position is responsible for building employee relations capability and enabling management effectiveness through execution of proactive employee relations initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate associate engagement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, practices, guidelines, and applicable provincial and federal laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing concerns, grievances or other issues in a proactive manner.
  • Initiate process improvement by analyzing current processes and recommending improvements to obtain greater efficiency, quality, and associate satisfaction.
  • Ensure safety and risk management programs and procedures are implemented within area of responsibility.
  • Lead associate development and training initiatives throughout the region

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, human resources
  • Proficient in both French and English
  • 5 years of HR experience with heavy emphasis on associate engagement
  • Strong associate/labor relations experience in union and non- union facilities
  • Ability to travel extensively to facilities within region including attendance at early morning, evening meetings (this is a field-based position)
  • Lead, direct and support key initiatives in region and nationally in areas to include associate engagement, safety, compensation and benefits
  • Design and deliver management and front line associate training
  • Experience with provincial specific labor/associate regulations in area of responsibility
