JOB SUMMARY: The Training and Development Coordinator reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Human Resources. The Training and Development Coordinator is responsible for training needs assessment; analysis; training plans; design/develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate a range of training programs/materials (including instructor-led, online/e-learning and blended learning methods) and management of the training management system for Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council. This position models, champions and reinforces Six Nations of the Grand River’s vision, mission and values through the development and implementation of all training and development initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Education, Human Resources or Business with experience in Adult Learning or other related field;
  • Certificate in Adult Education is preferred;
  • Three (3) years of current work-related experience in adult instructional design and delivery;
  • Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) or training designation (CTDP/CTP, RPT, CPLP, CPTM) would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act;
  • Experience with an on-line learning management system is an asset;
  • Experience coaching and mentoring adults;
  • Strong presentation/public speaking/facilitation practices and excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Excellent computer software knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn in house computer training programs;
  • Strong project management skills and organizational/prioritization skills to prioritize multiple work assignments simultaneously;
  • Familiarity with Human Resource Management System;
  • Must have and maintain a valid current Ontario Class G Driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance;
  • Must provide a current acceptable criminal record check.
