As a member of our Human Resources team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acts as the first point of contact for employees within the business for human resources (HR) issues and questions; guiding them to the appropriate resources.

  • Investigates and resolves employee and manager complaints, issues, and concerns regarding employment practices. Provides consultative services to identify root causes of issues, creates solutions for improvement, and facilitates implementation of action plans.

  • Acts as a resource to managers to advise on full life cycle of performance management including the development of goals, performance measures, related assessment and investigations, monitoring, organizational development, succession planning, and disciplinary/reward process.

  • Acts as a resource to managers to provide advice and guidance related to the attendance management program. This includes meeting with employees in relation to attendance concerns, and/or exploring and facilitating the need for workplace accommodations.

  • Participates in the recruitment process, as required. This includes meeting with managers to discuss available positions, coordinating interviews and job postings, developing interview questions, interviewing and assessing candidates, performing reference and background checks, and preparing offer letters and employment packages.

  • Provides active coaching to the leadership team on talent acquisition, talent management, talent development, and employee relations issues.

  • Conducts exit interviews, as required. This includes meeting with employees to identify issues and reporting on trends and issues to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Supports the delivery and deployment of programs and processes and participates in coaching and guiding in functional and cross-functional initiatives

  • Actively seeks and drives change to HR practices, processes and tools.

  • Works with Human Resources Business Partner to support the short term and long-term disability leave administration process.

  • Supports organizational development initiatives. This includes conducting research and benchmarking for HR programming, building collateral to support change and HR initiatives, and facilitating sessions to disseminate key information to management and staff.

  • Performs other duties within competence, as assigned.

If this opportunity sounds interesting, and you meet the following requirements, you might be the person we’re looking for. We need someone who has:

  1. University degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related subject.

  2. A minimum of five years’ experience in employee relations and organizational development.

  3. A minimum of one to three years of experience in organizational change management, or organizational development.

  4. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or commitment to complete CHRP designation.

  5. Prosci/ADKAR Certification in Change Management is consider an asset.

  6. The ability to communicate in French is required.

  7. Familiarity with project management principles.

  8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.

  9. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and HRIS Management.

  10. Strong influencing and negotiating skills to present alternatives to resolve conflicts and minimize high-risk situations, and the ability to quickly establish credibility.

  11. Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.

  12. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

  13. Experience working with relevant legislation in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, including the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code, the Employment Equity Act, the Pay Equity Act, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

  14. Strong interviewing and assessment skills.

  15. Benefits and payroll administration experience would be an asset.
