Primary Objectives:

As the Talent Acquisition Specialist, you are the primary owner for full-cycle activities to attract and select high performing talent to fill current and future organizational requirements in alignment with our recruiting strategy. Your professionalism and experience drives recruiting activities to identify top candidates who will contribute to the delivery of Company objectives. Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a positive candidate experience, build on employer branding activities, and convey Company values, including our strong reputation as an industry leader, collaborative and inclusive culture
  • Consult with applicable business leaders to understand the talent requirements for each opportunity
  • Create recruiting materials to generate interest and attract highly qualified candidates who align with the organizational needs
  • Identify and utilize a variety of the most appropriate sourcing channels to attract candidates
  • Maintain postings represented on sourcing channels to ensure they are active and effective
  • Leverage the applicant tracking system as a support mechanism and candidate database
  • Develop and draw from existing questions to build a comprehensive and decisive candidate selection process
  • Review candidate resumes against position criteria and partner with applicable business leaders to identify those for the prescreen interview and subsequent stages of the process
  • Organize and lead the selection process to move efficiently through the various stages, coordinating candidates and interviewers in a timely manner
  • Act as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the selection process
  • Support business leaders on selection activities to create and deliver a holistic candidate experience
  • Assess candidate ability and alignment to the specified position and requirements at each stage, in discussion with business leader hiring partners
  • Coordinate and conduct background checks and track progress for future hires in a timely manner
  • Participate in the planning, preparations and implementation of the onboarding process activities
  • Prepare new hire announcements in conjunction with the business leader hiring partners
  • Communicate selection closure with remaining candidates
  • Collect data for talent acquisition metrics and analysis
  • Perform all recruiting and selection activities with professionalism and in adherence to Company standards, legislation, and best practices
  • Assist the department in other initiatives as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of college or university studies in Human Resources required
  • Professional Human Resources designation in progress or completed is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in high volume recruiting for professional roles utilizing a variety of channels and technologies
  • Experience recruiting for a broad range of roles and levels; experience relating to technology, insurance, and engineering roles preferred
  • Strong capabilities in identifying a deep understanding of candidate capabilities, able to objectively assess suitability and candidate success
  • Able to establish rapport easily with candidates while maintaining professional communications
  • Results oriented with demonstrated achievements in effective remote recruiting practices
  • Collaborative with a high degree of internal and external service level orientation
  • Excellent professional, verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities, able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Proficient with MS Office, as well as with applicant tracking systems is preferred
  • Adaptable to changing requirements, able to balance being effective and efficient while working
  • Bilingual English/French is preferred
