The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) is Ontario’s HR profession’s regulatory association, with more than 24,000 members. We’re on a mission to set the standard for the HR profession, and, we are also a great place to work! We’re looking for a customer-centric, ambitious and creative HR professional to join our team in a newly created role: HR & Learning Specialist.

Reporting to the Vice President, HR and Learning, the HR & Learning Specialist will be a key player in supporting all of HRPA’s internal HR practices, from talent acquisition and on boarding, to culture and engagement; from HRIS to payroll and benefits – this position will be involved in it all!

What’s in it for HRPA?

The HR and Learning Specialist role has been created to:

  • Deliver end-to-end HR practices and operations within the Association.
  • Handle all HR administration.
  • Contribute to the execution of culture and engagement programs, and related internal training efforts.
  • Ensure that HR related projects and initiatives are executed well and with the desired outcomes.
  • Manage the HRIS, payroll and benefits programs.
  • Offer HR insights, expertise and research to support Member Learning programming.
  • Research HR trends and hot topics, then design and develop eLearning and resources for the benefit of other HR professionals.

To qualify, you will be able to successfully demonstrate that you have:

  • Completed a post-secondary (degree or diploma) with a focus on human resources
  • The CHRP designation, or CHRP candidate is minimally required
  • 5-years combined experience in all areas of HR, ideally in a full-service HR team or department
  • Alternatively, 2+ years as a sole HR practitioner in a small- to mid-size company
  • Minimum of 1 year in payroll, total rewards or a similar function is required
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset
  • Understanding of instructional design concepts and eLearning experience is an asset
  • High proficiency and aptitude in Microsoft Office; MS Word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS Outlook
  • Strong proficiency and aptitude in HR systems
  • Customer-centric approach to service delivery
  • Creativity and an innovative mindset when problem-solving
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high standard of work
  • Flexibility and are adaptable to a rapidly changing environment
