DUTIES

  • Lead the annual compensation and incentive process Creating and disseminating communication related to the merit and incentive cycles Managing the compensation tools to collect performance rating, merit and incentive allocations Ensuring new salaries for both merit base and flat rate groups are updated and communicated to employees accordingly. Ensure market competitiveness of CNL’s compensation structures. Work with compensation analyst on survey participation Conduct market research and provide recommendations on CNL’s salary structures Provide market assessments for critical roles as required Maintain Pay Equity Compliance Maintaining the integrity of the non-union job family system by providing advice and guidance on job design, grade allocation and performing job evaluation where required. Working towards ensuring CNL’s compliance with upcoming Federal Pay Equity Legislation Ad-Hoc costings, and providing analytical data Supporting Labour Relations with liability costings and market research for annual bargaining mandates, as well as providing ad-hoc costings during the bargaining process. Providing various costings and analytical reporting to support Finance, Project Management Office (PMO), and other client groups Participating in Compensation projects, and providing advice and guidance Participate on compensation projects, such as preparing for new Federal Pay Equity legislation, going to market for a potential new compensation tool, creating new or modifying existing retention programs for critical roles/project sites Provide guidance to the HR team and management regarding compensation policies and application.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resource or Business Administration Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is an asset 5 to 10 years direct experience in a Compensation role Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects and see those projects through to completion Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarize information concisely and present in written, graphical and/or verbal format in order to convey complex information to all levels of stakeholders Strong quantitative and analytical skills, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and skilled in manipulating data Proven ability to think conceptually, problem-solve, and generate practical solutions Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative to support the team Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling information of a sensitive nature Advanced proficiency in Excel is required; proficient with PowerPoint and Word Demonstrated knowledge of compensation planning, market benchmarking surveys, pay equity, incentive plans, understanding market trends, and job evaluation
