Reporting directly to the Corporate Human Resource organization while partnering the Danmare leadership team, the HRBP supports all divisional HR activities. The HRBP will be an important voice at the Danmare leadership table working to align local processes, policies, and systems with the global AGI organization and maintaining programs that best support the unique features of the Danmare business. Major areas of responsibility include workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee development, organizational design, benefits administration, and employee relations. The HRBP takes a lead role in working with employees to carry out company objectives. In addition the HRBP will work closely with the Corporate team located in Toronto and Winnipeg and the US to support a variety of AGI HR initiatives including the implementation of a new HRIS and payroll system and associated process changes and change management.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Provides a level of customer service that emphasizes accessibility, integrity, trustworthiness, confidentiality, respect, and dignity as well as ensures fair and equal treatment of all employees. Engages employees and supports operational focus.
  2. In partnership with divisional leadership and Corporate HR, develop workforce plans that ensure success for the long term.
  3. Drives talent acquisition for the division. Completes interviews, provides assessments, may perform reference and background checks, facilitates onboarding. 
  4. Assists with employee development, performance management and succession planning.  Performs needs assessments, facilitates training, and evaluates key performance indicators. 
  5. Assists with employee relation issues and terminations including unemployment claims.
  6. Prepares HR and management documents, maintains accurate employee files, electronic records, and documentation.
  7. Ensures understanding and follows up on completion of HR forms and benefits explanations. Working with Corporate HR ensures competitive compensation and benefit programs and ensures compliance with legal requirements.
  8. Adheres to Company policies and procedures covering the privacy of and access to employee information in compliance with legislated and AGI privacy practices.
  9. Performs additional related duties as requested or required.

 

Knowledge Required

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Training, Business Administration, or related field
  • Four plus years’ experience required in human resources management
  • HRIS and payroll experience a plus
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal employment law required
  • HR certification preferred
