They are currently seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator to achieve all payroll and human resources functions.  This permanent position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Human Resources responsibilities
    • Responsible for employee performance review process (full cycle)
  • Conduct and assist in hiring and onboarding process (Health & Safety, ISO, Company Orientation) as well as offboarding in collaboration with Manager
  • Ensure all job descriptions are accurate and updated accordingly
  • Assist CFO in multiples health, wellness and compensation projects
  • Maintain employee handbook and company work related policies, all in compliance with employment rules and regulations
  • Maintain and update training and development initiatives
  • Provide assistance to CFO in reviewing Behavioral Assessment tools
  • Performs a wide variety of clerical activities related to the insurance processing function
  • Responsible for all communication with government work related agency including WSIB reporting and inquiries
  • Take ownership in the social committee activities
  • Handle employee enquiries and conflict resolution
  • Act as a liaison between employees and external benefits providers and vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Payroll responsibilities                                                                             

  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Process Hourly and Salaried employees’ Payroll in Easy Pay / Paychex system, payroll remittances, approving and checking timecards for hourly employees
  • Issue T4’s, Record of employment
  • Maintain payroll benefits (including RRSP) records, reports and administration
  • Maintain and tracking vacation, leave and sick days records
  • Prepare Record of employments (ROE) and Letter of employments (LOE).
  • Addressing and answering all payroll related questions and queries; ensuring that payroll is handled according to procedure, rules and regulations and that all salaries are accurate.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years experience in HR & Payroll functions or similar position
  • College diploma in Human Resources or Certificate in office management or business equivalent
  • HRPA Designation
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and move between projects continuously
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and able to set priorities independently
  • Good working experience of NAV and Easy Pay/ Paychex would be considered asset
