The primary objective of this role is to support the growth and success of Tri-Mach Group of Companies by accurately completing Human Resources tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

RECRUITMENT, ONBOARDING & TRAINING                                                                                                            20%

  • Collaborate with Recruitment Manager to position the company as a preferred employer as well as create accurate and detailed job descriptions and KPIs
  • Full cycle recruitment for all openings as assigned by the Human Resources Manager
  • Responsible for new hire orientations
  • Process new hire paperwork and add new hires to ADP Workforce Now

HUMAN RESOURCES & ADMINISTRATION                                                                                                                 50%

  • Accountable for providing detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reporting 
  • Accountable for data integrity in the Human Resources department including maintaining current and historical human resource records, ensuring fast and easy access to all documents and data
  • Organize and maintain personnel records, including: actions related to the employment relationship, ensure data is entered into ADP Workforce Now, and relevant original documents are also kept on file 
  • Monitor, track and report on Human Resources-related statistics
  • Administer the Companies’ Apprenticeship Programs, assist employees with registration into the program, maintain the company’s apprenticeship hours tracking mechanisms and process wage changes related to Apprenticeship milestones
  • Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Coordinate new baby gifts, wedding gifts, years of service gifts and bereavement flowers
  • Complete Human Resources projects as assigned by the Human Resources Manager
  • Provide the Health and Safety Manager with information for WSIB claims and provide backup support
  • Accountable for keeping abreast of all legislative changes effecting Human Resources
  • Responsible for managing and administering company uniform programs
  • Other duties as assigned

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION                                                                                                10%

  • Coach and guide managers through the progressive discipline process to address performance that does not meet company expectations, including creation of letters of reprimand.  Refer any serious issues to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain a confidential, friendly and approachable demeanour, ensuring employees feel comfortable discussing any and all aspects relating to their employment
  • Ensure regular, positive communication with employees, fostering a positive work culture
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs

COMPENSATION, PAYROLL & BENEFITS                                                                                                                     10%

  • Expedited processing of all new hire packages, ensuring timely completion for payroll submission
  • Act as a resource for payroll and advise on pay matters (employee status, pay entitlements, changes to pay, employment legislation and compliance)
  • Provide backup support for payroll coverage and submission during Payroll Coordinator absences
  • Complete timecard approval process for the weekly payroll run
  • Provide backup support for benefits enrollment and plan administration

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT                                                                                                                                        10%

  • Assist in developing strong cultural awareness and employee engagement in an effort to increase retention and recruitment, including: planning and coordinating employee engagement initiatives (such as education sessions, department activities, corporate challenges) 
  • Optimize and enhance employee experience
  • Participate in the Social Committee

PREREQUISITES

  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources
  • CHRP Required
  • Ability to uphold corporate culture; collaboration, teamwork, accountability and results
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret extremely complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries / complaints and exercise sound judgement, discretion and tact
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion at all times in all situations
  • Previous manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Experience with multi-trade organization, favourably viewed.
  • Would be considered an asset to have multi-site / multi company experience
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including payroll, Employment Standards Act, WSIB, OH&S Act and applicable labour law across Ontario
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now considered an asset
