Previous Experience/Certification Preferred: CHRL designation, 7-10 years of HR management experience, valid First Aid/CPR, excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), strong knowledge of employment and health and safety laws, strong English communication skills.
This position is responsible for:
Human Resources
- Advise Management on Employment and Health and Safety laws and regulations for three locations in Ontario and British Columbia
- Participate as the certified management representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Administer company benefits and GRSP program
- Perform bi-weekly payroll using software for time and attendance
- Organize and participate in the hiring of new employees
- Conduct orientation of new hires
- Facilitate and track all required training
- Track annual performance evaluations program
- Create, update and enforce all company policies for HR and Health & Safety
- Manage all WSIB requirements and claims
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare reports as needed
- Liaise with employees and management for HR concerns
- Attend at meetings
- Maintain AODA compliance
- Participate and take minutes at Management Review Team meetings
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Administration
- Track and arrange for regular preventative maintenance and legal compliance on warehouse and office equipment
- Manage and ensure compliance of company’s participation in Partners in Protection program
- Maintain company website
- Review company leases for compliance and liaise with tenants over any issues
- Liaise with the Town of New Tecumseth for any development issues
- Prepare and co-ordinate spreadsheets for insurance purposes
- Other duties as assigned
