As a member of the senior operations team, you will work closely with the senior leadership team and serve on the School’s EDI Advisory Council.

What you’ll do: 
1. Strategic Vision and Planning 

  • Serve as a key advisor to the Dean and collaborate closely with members of the School’s senior leadership team and the EDI Advisory Council to develop long-term School-wide culture and EDI strategies.
  • Develop and deliver tailored best in class Roadmap to address culture that positively and measurably affects the culture and ensures long-term sustainability of EDI efforts. 
  • Work in collaboration with senior leaders and others on identifying and minimizing the impact of any potential systematic barriers to diversity.
  • Act as the diversity and inclusion subject matter expert, ensuring knowledge and Ivey’s EDI initiatives are relevant and up to date across multiple strands.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and Communications 

  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans to ensure community engagement and EDI goals and programming reflect experiences, collective expertise, and needs of the broader Ivey community.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations outside of the School to help further its engagement and EDI goals.
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop and implement communications strategies and content management for training, web resources, social media and print materials to support increased engagement and EDI initiatives.
  • Serves as internal and external thought leader and spokesperson on EDI and culture through speaking engagements, policy review, and public relations efforts.
  • Energize and engage cross-functional teams to achieve our vision, demonstrating a high-level of emotional intelligence, influence, openness to change, and the willingness to merge ideas to bring forward the best solutions.

3. Program Development and Implementation

  • Build and be accountable for new EDI and engagement programs including training for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Collaborate with School and University departments to support strategic hiring and retention efforts to attract and retain a highly talented, diverse workforce. 
  • Partner with relevant program offices to help develop and measure student recruitment strategies at the undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral level to meet EDI goals in academic programs.
  • Serve as an internal resource to faculty, staff, and students, on engagement and EDI topics including the support of formal and ad hoc curriculum reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to support fundraising for engagement and EDI initiatives, including relevant scholarships.

4. Analysis and Reporting 

  • Partner with Human Resources to evaluate the results of staff engagement and climate surveys and develop solutions to achieve a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and engaged faculty and staff environment.
  • Oversee the analysis and presentation of internal and external engagement and EDI-related data; including benchmarking, tracking metrics, analyzing and generating reporting for various audiences to highlight trends and demonstrate impact of engagement and EDI programs and initiatives. 
  • Research competent to stay relevant with thought leaders on EDI/best practices/local issues etc.

What you have: 
Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as diversity, organizational development, change management, business administration, human resources or public administration. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in leading organizational culture or change management, with demonstrated experience in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in a complex organization.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Deep knowledge of culture and change management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience driving organizational change, including a track record of strategic planning and program implementation.
  • Proven experience building and implementing an EDI strategy and programs with evidence of success in working across an organization. 
  • Proven ability to take a consultative approach, build strong collaborative relationships (internally and externally), influence key stakeholders, and gain consensus to achieve deliverables.
  • Demonstrated expertise building collaborations between academic, corporate and/or internal stakeholders across all functions. 
  • Proven ability to support and empower leaders who are less experienced in leading conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion to build the school’s capacity in equity leadership. 
  • Expert communication skills, specifically as it relates to communicating to a variety of internal and external stakeholders about EDI issues
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to provide oversight for assessments related to employee engagement and EDI. Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret data to drive systematic change and improvements
  • Maintenance of professional development to ensure currency with research, trends, and best practices related to organizational culture, employee engagement, and EDI issues. 
  • Strategic thinker who can align approach with business strategies.
  • Experience creating and managing project plans to support effective implementation of programs and initiatives. 

Location: London, ON
Position Type: This is a full-time 3-year renewable contract with full benefits.
