Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in relevant field from a recognized educational institution
  • Masters in a related field preferred
  • CHRP designation or related designation
  • Change Management certificate
  • Certificate in OD instruments preferred
  • Five years progressive and advanced human resources/organizational development, including experience in workforce planning, recruitment/retention and training/orientation deliverables
  • Relevant project management experience
  • Relevant operational readiness experience in a unionized environment an asset
  • Strong understanding of fundamental Change Management methods and deliverables
  • Experience with cultural transformation
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and execute change management programs in large scale change efforts
  • Proven capability in engaging others, developing coalitions, achieving results and bringing about transformational change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to customize communications to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent decision making, problem recognition, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Promotes inclusiveness and recognizes and respects the value of diversity within our community and our workforce Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Working knowledge of labour/employee requirements
  • Proactive, goal oriented, responsive and ready to take initiative.

Accountabilities:

  • Supports the Centre to effectively manage change in order to achieve its strategic direction through facilitation, education, project support, and coaching.
  • Implements the change management framework to support the broader initiative of operational readiness.
  • Delivers change activities to increase adoption, including change visioning session(s), stakeholder engagement plans, change communications, stakeholder analysis, job/role impact assessments, and change readiness assessments.
  • Support leaders to be change champions.
  • Contributes to action planning to achieve goals desired outcomes.
  • Supports the identification of current and future state staffing including the development and implementation of workforce planning assumptions and plans.
  • Collaborates with other human resource staff and occupational health and safety to ensure alignment and support for transition planning for all areas of the hospital.
  • Liaise with other hospital HR partners that have gone through operational readiness or are in the process.
  • Provides direct support to all levels of people managers to assist teams through change management and change transitions.
  • Develops evaluation metrics to measure effectiveness and to adjust as needed.
  • Will liaise across the hospital to support and provide the development and implementation of the training/orientation and recruitment/retention needs.

West Park Healthcare Centre helps patients get their lives back by providing inpatient, outpatient and outreach services in specialized rehabilitative and complex care after a life-altering illness or injury such as lung disease, amputation, stroke, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.  By 2021, West Park’s 27-acre site will be transformed into an integrated campus of care, including a new hospital building and additional community supports such as assisted living for persons with disabilities and seniors.  This transformation enables the Centre to evolve its rehabilitative programs and strengthen links to community-based services to meet the future healthcare needs of our local community and the province.
