Labour Relations and Human Resources Administrator


Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project and is seeking highly qualified, experienced personnel to join the team of this complex P3 design and construction project.

Overview:

In this opportunity, you will support to the HR and Labour Relations groups by assisting with the preparation, co-ordination and collection of information required on all files, grievances, and department-led activities, and work with the recruitment team for temporary foreign workers, needed for union/labour position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the collection, review, analysis and development of requisite material and information to support day-to-day labour relations matters, grievances, and broader HR project work.
  • Preparing files for disciplinary matters and grievance hearings.
  • Coordinating labour relations data reports.
  • Supporting the drafting of communication material, reports, notes and proposals used to support provision of consulting services.
  • Provide administrative support involving the following transactions and data collection:
    • Attendance Management spreadsheet and program letters.
    • Employee letters and correspondence.
    • File search requests, invoices, union leave requests.
    • Draft agenda and meeting minutes on various labour-management committees.
  • Liaise with clients and partners, including finance and payroll, in support of issues management.
  • Contribute, where necessary, on projects and activities that align P&C and Labour Relations strategy
  • Be accessible and provide exceptional customer service that builds upon our department’s reputation of being knowledgeable, professional, creative and responsive.
  • Effectively administering multiple separate collective agreements.
  • Work with unions, legal representatives, and government representations for immigration process for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs)
  • Work closely with recruitment manager for on-boarding, continued employment and off-boarding of TFWs

Educational Requirements:

  • College diploma in related field required

Terms of employment:

Full-time, project-based for 16 months, commencing in January 2021. This position is based on a 40 hour week, generally Monday to Friday, with some occasional weekend work needed. Annual vacation is 15 days.

Language of Work:

English written and spoken

Spanish language written and spoken a strong asset but not required

Salary Range:

$60,000-70,000 annual salary. This position is eligible for our annual salary review practice which may result in eligibility for bonuses and/or annual salary increases in excess of 2%.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in working in labour relations with an exposure to collective agreements
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience working with immigration process of union labour
  • Spanish language skills are an asset but not requried
  • Ability to interpret and apply provisions of multiple collective agreements.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio)

Location:

  • Primary work location is 1100 Caledonia Rd (Dufferin and Lawrence area)
