The HR Recruitment Business Partner is responsible for integrating and managing the shared practices for recruitment for The Central Group of Companies, (Central Graphics and Container Group Ltd., Independent Corrugator Inc., and Packaging Technologies Inc.) with a heavy focus on production role recruitment efficiencies and standardization.  This newly created role, reporting to the HR Manager, includes HR support through onsite presence in all production manufacturing environments and collaboration with all HR team members to manage talent across business partners.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Lead full cycle recruitment for production and office roles in a non-unionized environment for the four locations including developing and implementing a strategic recruitment plan across business units that results in high quality talent and process efficiency
  • Coordinate and manage entire recruitment processes including budgeting, compensation best practices, candidate targeting, viability assessment, negotiations, onboarding
  • Advise on best practices pertaining to the recruitment process including sourcing candidates for the office and production environments, including creative strategies to increase attraction and retention of key roles
  • Provide leadership on synergies by thinking strategically on candidate selection, optimizing talent pipeline and leveraging external resources to meet the demands of business
  • Optimize or source new appropriate recruitment channels – internal referral program, agencies, job sites, school programs, career centres, job fairs, other advertising / social media
  • Candidate communication that reinforces culture, is consistent with branding, and leaves a positive impression of Central with all candidates

         Stakeholder Management:

  • Foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders including client groups, manufacturing leads and Human Resources team at various sites
  • Support hiring managers (selection criteria, job descriptions, pre-screening, interviews, orientation scheduling) through process with updates on open roles and challenges
  • Provide employee relations support, conduct investigations and respond to enquiries for production employees
  • Proactively bring forward issues and nuances with production environment as company processes or policies are implemented

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure policies surrounding health and safety are adhered to and provide guidance on gaps identified in each location through communication with Director, Process Quality
  • Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee by attending regular meetings and managing implementation of processes at all locations
  • Review concerns with HR Manager to proactively manage discrepancies and reduce risk

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or Business
  • CHRP Designation required and Joint Health & Safety Certification an asset
  • 5+ years of work-related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to travel between offices within GTA
