Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Leader, Talent Development, the Client Partner is responsible for employing the use and evaluation of an integrated talent development process for Fraser Health employees. The Client Partner focus is on supporting the promotion of internal employees and to facilitate and provides coaching debriefs relating to the use of feedback tools and talent analytics. The Client Partner facilitates leadership calibration conversations to establish high potential talent pools, and providing consulting services, career counselling, coaching and knowledge in the areas that utilize feedback tools, ability/competency assessments and adult learning, including psychometric assessments, related to leadership development planning.

Works with Executive Directors and Directors to provide support and partners with the individuals and specific functional areas in recognizing current patterns across the system, developing and implementing strategies to improve a culture of direct and transparent performance discussions and organizational effectiveness; facilitates leadership, management and personal development programs as appropriate. Works with Client Partners in Talent Acquisition to jointly determine when to hire externally or when to promote internally.

KEY AREAS OF INVOLVEMENT INCLUDE:

  1. Provides knowledge and facilitation services to Executives and their senior teams on transparent talent development processes, including assessment and feedback regarding the potential for succession, selection of leaders for high potential talent pools of candidates preparing for management roles, mentorship and coaching support, and ensuring two-way feedback loops regarding leadership performance success.
  2. Focuses services on supporting the development and assessment of internal talent, specifically the competencies, skills and experience that individuals require to move to an identified position.
  3. Facilitates and provides coaching debriefs to clients relating to talent feedback tools and talent analytics.
  4. Provides consulting and facilitation support to establish and monitor targeted “on-the-job” stretch experiences for senior leaders and annual high potential leader performance feedback sessions.
  5. Implements and evaluates an internal talent development and succession planning process for Vice Presidents, Executive Directors and Directors with a focus on managerial positions.
  6. Supports the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives designed to strengthen the internal talent pool in select areas of the organization and individuals' competencies in hosting transparent conversations and/or difficult conversations.
  7. Designs, develops and delivers leadership and talent development programs or processes to selected levels of the organization by partnering with leaders and teams that engage stakeholders from initiation to integration of the initiative. Assists in the development of leadership and talent development practices, standards, guidelines, processes. Recommends the use of internal talent development tools and provides feedback.
  8. Assesses leadership and talent development needs at selected levels, developing learning strategies as required; facilitates, evaluates and monitors results.
  9. Provides consulting services to management staff with the focus on improving team, leader and systems effectiveness and increasing leaders’ capacity for mentoring, coaching, developing leaders within their own teams.
  10. Supports new-to-role leaders by coaching through challenges and guiding their professional/role development to ensure success. Utilizes psychometric assessments to assist leaders in their own career development.
  11. Provides on-going career coaching, adult education and interventions to support learning and development for a specific program/service.
  12. Remains current in the practice of leadership, talent development, and succession planning by ongoing professional development; researches and implements best practice and trends in alignment with probable future needs in the organization.
  13. Works with Client Partners in Talent Acquisition to determine whether to hire externally or in some cases, promote internally.
  14. Liaises and builds relationships with external agencies, search firms, educational institutions, and peers from other health authorities to capitalize on partnership opportunities across the system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in Leadership Development, Adult Education, Organizational Behaviour or other equivalent Behavioral Science. Five years’ recent, related experience in Leadership or talent development in an intermediate to large size organization.

Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in a healthcare settings with certification in psychometric assessments and/or certification from an accredited coach training program.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, particularly of change initiatives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer technology, especially the fundamentals of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, data base and CD ROM.
