The Hamilton Police Service is looking for an experienced Occupational Health Manager. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the position is responsible for providing a full range of disability management services including the integration of all health, safety and wellness related policies and programs, claims management, WSIAT and attendance management programs.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Post-Secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- CDMP certifications would be considered an asset.
- Valid Class G Driver’s license with full driving privileges in Ontario
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive disability management experience in a complex unionized environment, handling WSIB/WSIAT, claims management, wellness, health and safety programs.
- Demonstrated supervisor experience determining priorities and decision making is required
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to research and implement best practices to support disability management which will include, but not limited to claims management, return to work, wellness programs and WSIB.
- Demonstrated ability to perform analysis and provide statistics information as it relates to disability management
- Strong written and verbal communications skills to prepare reports and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems and experience with Collective Agreements.
- Highly motivated and self-directed professional.
