Manager, Human Resources

Royal Homes is currently hiring a Manager, Human Resources to join their team.
As a team of one, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing technical expertise while executing the strategic goals of the organization as they relate to Human Resources such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and development, employee relations, health and safety, and performance management. The HR Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of all corporate human resources policies, long-range human resources strategic initiatives and championing the corporate mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Full cycle recruitment;
- Development and implementation of new/revised human resources policies and procedures;
- Administration and maintenance of the Benefits and pension plans;
- Provide subject matter expert guidance to management regarding employment legislation and best practices in the HR field;
- Management of occupational (WSIB) and non-occupational injuries and the return to work process;
- Employee related records management including complete and up to date employee files, mandatory training etc.;
- Weekly reporting on HR initiatives, metrics and KPIs;
- Oversight of Health and Safety requirements and compliance including oversight of the Joint Health and Safety Committee;
- Support with union matters including collective bargaining and negotiations;
- Planning and execution of various employee appreciation initiatives;
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business administration or related discipline is required; CHRP and/or CHRL designation is preferred;
- Minimum 3 years' experience in human resources generalist position;
- Thorough knowledge of human resources principles and practices, employment legislation and health and safety principles and practices including appropriate legislation/regulations;
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products;
- Ability to demonstrate tact and discretion in handling matters of confidential matter;
- Experience working in a unionized environment an asset;
- Experience working in the construction industry, considered an asset.
