Position Overview

In consultation with the Corporate Recruiter and Managers/Supervisors, coordinate staff recruitment and retention activities in the Long-Term Care Division. Provide a wide range of confidential administrative support services in relation to recruitment and retention administering all activities related to recruitment and retention management in accordance with Corporate recruitment and retention strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Applicant Tracking System (ATS) - Working in conjunction with the Corporate Recruiter
• At the request of manager/supervisors initiate postings in the ATS to ensure that the data is accurately reflected prior to distribution
• Provide assistance to internal users of the Applicant Tracking System in regards to general inquiries, concerns, questions, etc.
• Provide systems training to new users of the ATS
• Assist with the job posting process and act as a contact for individuals, both internal and external, in regards to recruitment questions

Recruitment - Working in conjunction with the Corporate Recruiter
• Ensure recruitment documentation and processes are in compliance with County policies and procedures
• Coordinate recruitment activities to streamline recruitment between the Homes/Community Support Services
• Provide administrative assistance in the short listing of applicants, scheduling of interviews, completion of references, development of letters of offer and closing of each posting file.
• Work with Managers/Supervisors to create interview questions/testing
• Oversee the recruitment process at the long term care homes to ensure consistency and to reduce liability
• Possess general knowledge of union collective agreements in regards to job posting procedure, transfer language, etc.
• Assist hiring managers by organizing and structuring the recruitment process in compliance with the relevant legislation

Retention - in accordance with Corporate retention strategies
• Ensure retention documentation and processes are in compliance with County policies and procedures
• Co-ordinate the development of orientation training and experiences for new staff with the management team in each Home
• Co-ordinate the presentation of orientation training and onboarding process across all three homes
• Assist the Education Coordinator with the division's education program.
• Review and revise orientation packages and information to ensure information is up to date and consistent in the three Homes.

General:
• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, Long-Term Care Division and County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
• Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis
• Working ability to create documents to be compliant with AODA requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Education
• A 2 year Community College Diploma in the field of Human Resources or Business Administration, or the like preferred.

Experience
• No experience required.
• Working knowledge of recruitment processes, job postings, working with an applicant tracking system, and/or working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
• Certified Human Resources Professional designation would be considered an asset
• Proficient in all Microsoft programs
• Must possess diplomacy, tact and communication (verbal and written) skills

A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and use of a vehicle.
