This professional -- to be based in Waterdown, Ontario -- will provide HR partnership to assigned client groups across Canada. The primary focus will be on partnering with the business - both leaders and employees - to create and develop a highly engaged and performance-based team that delivers results within the company values. This individual will partner with teams to translate divisional strategies into HR strategies that will assist in achieving growth ambitions for Canada, and will deliver strategic HR partnership to the business through talent management, succession planning, individual development planning (including coaching), change management, performance management, employee relations, and orchestration of other HR services in alignment with our Centers of Excellence. This individual will provide seamless, effective full-service HR support to all stakeholders including leaders, supervisors and employees.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR Partnership to business leaders
  • Share responsibility with business leaders to build great leadership capabilities and achieve business results
  • Participate and be an active member of client group leadership teams
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholders in  highly complex and unique environment
  • Partner with client group leadership and Talent Acquisition Business Partners on all recruitment activity; ensuring a high talent mindset is maintained and effective talent bench in place.
  • Drive the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion agenda for assigned groups and country.
  • Actively participate in and lead new acquisitions as they arise.
  • Drive performance management as part of the organizational culture. Ensure strong JDs, performance objectives, bonus objectives and sales incentive plans are in place.
  • Manage talent reviews, support and guide the creation of Individual development plans, succession planning, all the time developing the team’s talent bench.
  • Set and provide HR direction for business unit; advising clients on employment practices, corporate and divisional policies/procedures.
  • Provide guidance on effective reward and recognition initiatives; with a focus on rewarding top performers.
  • Ensure an effective performance management process is in place.
  • Align compensation and benefits with division priorities, provide input on compensation guidelines.
  • Ensure employment documentation is appropriately administered.
  • Oversee and lead employee litigation/dispute resolution for assigned business group.
  • Recommend and implement changes to HR processes that increase customer satisfaction and HR efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Ensure that new employees are effectively on-boarded and terminated employees are appropriately exited.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with business leaders/managers in multiple functional areas, including sales
  • Must have experience supporting a commercial business unit
  • Proven track record in the provision of excellent strategic and tactical HR support
  • Ability to operate in a complex environment, leveraging internal and external partners to meet the HR needs of the client base
  • Proven ability to manage complex HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, compensation administration (including sales incentive plans) and benefits administration
  • Demonstrated experience in organization design/restructuring and change management
  • Ability to build relationships and connect with employees, managers and leaders at every level of the organization
  • Possess excellent communication, training and facilitation skills

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience; Prefer Post-Graduate Diploma in HR Specialty or Master's Degree in HR specialty or Business
  • Canadian Human Resource Professional designation preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a successful HR generalist supporting multiple diverse business/functional groups
