As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Human Resources is accountable for the development and implementation of corporate strategies and organizational goals and objectives relating to all aspects of Human Resources and Health and Safety.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for all Human Resources services provided by the organization including recruitment, benefits, pension administration, compensation management, performance management, employee relations, labour relations, training and development, organizational development and policy development
  • Responsible for all Health and Safety services provided by the organization including programming, disability management, WSIB administration, employee assistance program, training and development and employee wellness
  • Responsible for the overall administration of all collective agreements (12) and the Non-Union group and accountable for the management of all labour activities including the management of grievances, conciliation, mediation and arbitration processes
  • Chief Negotiator and City of Timmins Representative for the renewal of all twelve collective agreements
  • Responsible for the development and adherence to annual departmental budgets
  • Responsible for compliance with all federal, provincial and municipal legislated requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline (or an equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • Must hold a professional designation in Human Resources Management (CHRP, CHRL)
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ progressive experience in corporate services functions, leadership and labour relations
  • Sound leadership and management/supervisory skills with the ability to interpret/apply employment policies & collective agreements and resolve or manage issues that may arise
  • Experience in leading improvement projects consistent with the City of Timmins Continuous Improvement Program
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check
  • Bilingual in French and English an asset
