Applications will be received by Six Nations of the Grand River and Grand River Employment & Training (GREAT) up until 4:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, February 3, 2021, for the Staffing Officer with  Department.  The Six Nations of the Grand River Application for Employment Form, Job Posting and Job Description are available for printing from the G.R.E.A.T. website.  NO LATE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED. Applicants from Six Nations and other First Nations will be given preference to deliver programs and services in a First Nations community.

JOB SUMMARY: The Staffing Officer reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Human Resources. The Staffing Officer shall assist the Manager of Human Resources in the management of the Hiring Policies and Procedures as established by the Six Nations Elected Council. The Staffing Officer shall be responsible for staffing vacant positions; preparing staffing documents and reports; communicating and liaising with department directors and managers, maintaining and monitoring a variety of staffing information and/or records, and performing administrative functions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Business or Office Administration, or
  • Certification in Human Resources, and minimum of two (2) years of work related experience; OR,
  • Secondary School Diploma (or equivalency) and a minimum of five (5) years’ work related experience;
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel;
  • Excellent organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.
