Who we need

Altus Group is growing rapidly, and we need an HRIS Administrator to fill a new role in our Toronto office. Reporting to the Manager, HR Technology, Analytics and Solutions this is an opportunity for someone who wants to step into an HR department to grow their career in HR Systems and Analytics. We need an HRIS Administrator to take ownership of the data entry of HR information, building reports, and optimizing business processes within our system - Workday.

Who you are

You are a new or recent Human Resources grad looking to build your career in an HRIS role. You likely have co-op experience or 1-2 years of work experience performing HR admin, support and data entry tasks ideally using Workday, or another enterprise level HRIS system. You are highly effective at collecting, organizing and analyzing data. You are looking for an opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and be encouraged to grow. You are detail oriented, meticulous and you strive for accuracy while maintaining a customer focus in your interactions with employees the rest of the global HR team.

Our new HRIS Administrator will ensure:

  • Accuracy. You will perform accurate data entry in Workday.
  • Processes are followed. You will review the efficiency and effectiveness of the Workday data. You will make recommendations for simplifications and other improvements.
  • Issue resolution. You will collaborate with Human Resources, IT, and Finance teams, to resolve minor questions or issues involving Workday. You will escalate issues as required.
  • Data integrity. You will assist in the development and adherence to standards and procedures that protect and improve the integrity - and maintain control - of Workday data.
  • System support and training. You will update documentation and provide training related to Workday process changes. You will collaborate with team members to coach all Workday users on first level systems issues, questions and changes. You will work towards developing your expertise with the system to train new employees at all levels.
  • Ensure the systems meet the business requirements. You will support the HR team with upgrading Workday system processes and implementation of new modules.
  • Contribute. You will work on multiple projects as part of the HR team.
  • Share knowledge. You will learn from your team and grow to be part of our culture of sharing.

Our new HRIS Administrator has:

  • The education and experience. A university degree or college diploma in Human Resources or Business. Through school, co-op or a first work placement, you have developed an understanding of administrative procedures and employment standards. You are a continuous learner, who can quickly pick up new systems, tasks and information.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills. You are highly-detailed, and you can shift focus from one priority to another while maintaining accuracy. You can manage a high volume of work and balance multiple activities, prioritizing calls and requests.
  • The communication skills. You have professional documentation and excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to provide training and create reports and presentations.
  • The drive. You have proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with a willingness to dig into details and a commitment to improving processes.
  • The technical experience. You enjoy working with an HRIS and data entry. You have advanced skills in MS Office specifically Excel (formulas, pivot tables etc.).
  • The personality. You are a vibrant, committed team player. You understand the confidential nature of HR work and the diplomacy and sound judgment needed to thrive in HR.
