We are seeking an energetic and collaborative Human Resources Generalist who is passionate about providing full-cycle Human Resources support to various areas of the business and the organization as a whole.  The ideal individual is a solution oriented, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, providing consultation and guidance in all areas of human resources management issues and solutions.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist’s primary focus will be hands on HR tasks in multiple areas with a focus on Administration, HRIS, and Employee Relations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Advise management and employees on interpretation of employment practices and administration of HR policies and programs (e.g. performance, attendance, disability management, workplace investigations, employee exits, etc.)
  • Effectively communicate and rollout HR policies, training, compliance, processes and procedures to the entire workforce
  • Act as a point of contact and advisor to business leaders and employees, providing effective counsel, feedback and coaching on a broad range of issues
  • Support performance management and employee relations
  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations in accordance with Company policies and legislative requirements
  • Preparation of HR reports related to but not limited to: staffing, turnover, disability management and provide action items to address gaps and issues
  • Preparation of various types of letters i.e.:  offer letters, transfers, promotions, terminations, temporary assignments, contract extensions etc.
  • Oversee benefits management for all employees by working with internal and external stakeholders to communicate and manage the organization’s benefits/rewards programs
  • Ownership and management of all HRIS transactions and processes in the Human Resources Information System, including but not limited to: absence management, onboarding and off-boarding
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, as required
  • Participate as an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JH&SC)

Covid-19 Regulations

  • Monitor Regional, Provincial and Federal pandemic workplace related bylaws, regulations and Workplace recommendations
  • Implement and enforce new policies as needed
  • Participate as an active member of the COVID task force

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • Post-secondary education, specializing in Human Resources and equivalent work experience
  • CHRP and/or CHRL designation
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Human Resources Business Partner or Human Resources Generalist within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of employment standards, government regulations, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and health and safety
  • Demonstrated experience using an HRIS system to maintain employee information
  • A high degree of professionalism and independence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner and influence others
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced, multi-facet environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Experience working with various levels of an organization, by providing support, constructive advising, coaching and training
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills
