JOB SUMMARY

The Talent Management team provides talent solutions that supports Empire ‘s corporate mission, vision and values. The team’s mandate focuses primarily on the Employer Brand to effectively attract, onboard, develop, and manage the full employee experience through companywide initiatives.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full recruitment cycle at Empire ensuring a positive candidate experience.  Driving our new Empire Employer brand to attract top talent for a variety of position across Empire’s North American locations with innovative recruitment techniques in keeping with the gig economy.    

In this role you will continually partner with hiring managers and the Human Capital business partners to develop and implement recruitment strategies and methodologies which meet the business needs.  This role requires the ability to be future focused on recruitment trends, an expert sourcing and interviewing using relevant technology in an ever-changing environment. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build strong relationships with the clients/hiring managers through understanding different business/functional streams, staffing levels and position requirements
  • Provide support to managers regarding hiring decision as the SME for Talent Acquisition
  • Create job postings and ensure internal and external posting and distribution
  • Source talent utilizing the internal Tracking System (ATS), social media, external job boards and consistent partnership with various apprentice and relevant industry certification programs
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with government; local employment agencies and educational institutions
  • Own the complete recruitment lifecycle in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Screen, interview, assess candidates and manage the employment offer process in conjunction with the Human Capital business partners
  • Monitor the hiring process to ensure conformity to recruitment policies, procedures and best practices and advise managers of relevant legislations related to the recruitment function and risks associated with non-compliance
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Human Capital team to ensure successful on-boarding of the new hire
  • Create, analyze and manage full recruitment analytics in combination with local Human Capital/Talent measurements and highlight trends and recommended solutions
  • Collaborate with broader Human Capital team to manage local recruitment drives, career fairs and other attraction practices that support business needs

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum 5 years of recruitment experience with high volume hiring requirements
  • BA in business and/or social science discipline or equivalent demonstrating understanding of human behavior as applied to the workplace
  • Knowledge of recruitment related legislation and best practices as demonstrated through CHRP and recruitment related certifications
  • Understanding of and demonstrated ability in applying behavioural profiling tools such as DISC in the talent acquisition process
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and social media tools
  • Ability to effectively manage process, tools and analytics based on continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate ability to use internet search tools and programs to source candidates (LinkedIn recruiter, Indeed, etc.)
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and self-manage in a deadline-oriented environment with frequent interruptions
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills required for public presentations, phone and virtual interviewing, report, letter and contract writing
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with multiple stakeholders Energetic and enthusiastic presentation style to effectively articulate
