Committed to the provision of excellence in early childhood education as well as ethical and professional standards within the profession, the College of Early Childhood Educators (the College) is responsible for 57,000+ members, is one of the largest self-regulatory bodies in Ontario, and is the only professional self-regulatory body for early childhood education in Canada. Its members come from diverse backgrounds and reflect the pluralism found among the children and families that they serve. This diversity is also reflected among a staff of 60+/- at the College, a College with an operating budget of approximately $10M.

Leading with these values, the College is accepting nominations and applications for the role of Manager, Human Resources—a role responsible for delivering all human resources activities for the College.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Human Resources has oversight in the delivery and management of human resource functions; ensures that HR-related policies, practices, and procedures are responsive to the College’s mandate and legislative responsibilities; offers HR expertise to the Executive Leadership Team; provides values-driven and strategic recommendations to programming initiatives; and, commits to initiatives that advance- occupational health and safety. Thoughtful and results-driven, the individual carries out their work with precision and great care. Guided by equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles, the Manager, Human Resources will help to enhance a work culture that fosters belonging for all social identities.

The successful candidate has an undergraduate degree or diploma with a CHRP or CHRL designation, as well as managerial experience in a not-for-profit or public sector environment. The incumbent brings experience leading and/or participating in EDI initiatives, as well as deep knowledge in employment legislation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change is constant. A natural inclination towards analysis, critical thinking and problem solving is highly sought, as is an energy that embraces positivity and kinship with colleagues.
