The Director, Human Resources is accountable for creating and implementing the HR strategy which supports the overall vision and growth plan of NorLand Limited. The Director, Human Resources will make a company-wide impact by enhancing and supporting NorLand’s culture, facilitating and supporting robust talent acquisition, management processes and organizational planning, integrating acquisitions, and developing and implementing progressive HR programs. In meeting these objectives, the Director, Human Resources provides senior corporate leadership and assumes responsibility for recommending and implementing HR practices and policies that attract, retain, educate, and motivate the best and brightest. The Director, Human Resources must be comfortable playing both a highly strategic role in the formulation of the HR strategy as well as a tactical role in executing the strategy.

The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader from a complex industrial environment, construction, or engineering sector where their mandate encompassed both tactical and strategic components. In this capacity, they would have led teams, assisted in the development of progressive talent management programs and supported business leaders in achieving ambitious corporate objectives. Ideally has worked in a privately owned and operated business environment and one that has a distributed workforce. They will bring strong expertise in recruiting, talent management, acquisition evaluation/integration, and providing strategic counsel to an executive team. Preferably has exposure to unionized labour relations, ISO certified, highly ethical work environments, organizational design & development, compensation & benefits, succession development, HRIS, learning & development and workforce planning. They will be a result-oriented professional who can enable business through programs that support growth without hindering or cramping an entrepreneurial and dynamic culture.
