HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Summary of Position

As a result of our expansion into Ontario, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our unionized, 500 employee production facility in Mississauga.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Ensure the effective execution of the recruitment and orientation processes for all General Labour and Management positions

· Act as a resource for the Management Team by providing ongoing coaching, mentoring on all employee/labour matters including: performance management, attendance management, discipline, disability and Workers’ Compensation claims

·Work with line management to identify and resolve HR issues as they arise while promoting positive employee/management relations in carrying out the day-to-day HR services and support

·Ensure best practices are followed by staying current with labour and Employment legislation and HR industry developments

·Coaches Managers to effectively apply HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and understanding

·Track, analyze and report critical metrics as it pertains to areas such as attendance, recruitment, turnover and retention

·Participate in Health and Safety Committee while also developing and training best in class Health and Safety Programs

·Work with line management staff to develop and monitor Return to Work Programs to ensure prompt re-integration into workforce

·Acting as a resource and subject matter expert, provide thoughtful counsel to leaders in the areas of compensation, and employee engagement.

·Develop strong partnerships with all internal and external business associates

·Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge

·Working knowledge of relevant provincial legislation to ensure compliance

·Strong communication skills including ability to negotiate and build consensus

·Ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity in dealing with employee/labour relations issues

·Ability to prioritize and successfully resolve issues with high sense of urgency

·Strong attention to detail

·Experience handling WSIB matters

Education and Experience

·University degree or College Diploma in Human Resources

·CHRP, CHRL designation (or in progress) will be an asset

·Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Human Resources

·Previous experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
