University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Senior Director, Performance & Learning in our Human Resources Department.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the VP, Human Resources.   Working with both HR and organizational leaders, you will help shape the development of a robust and integrated performance and learning practice at UHN.   Key to this mandate will building greater connectivity with the interdependencies between leadership development, learning and education, as well as change and change management -- and their impact to individual and team performance.

This is a critical role in our journey to “re-imagine HR’ at UHN, in alignment to the current and future needs of our diverse workforce, as well as the strategic goals and aspirations of the overall organization.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work across the enterprise to design and implement key initiatives related to performance enhancement, leadership development, education & e-learning, organizational effectiveness as well as change management.
  • You will apply a ‘systems thinking’ and progressive approach to this important work, and use diagnostic models, data gathering and best practice to design and deliver organizational programs and associated client interventions.
  • You will act as a strategic partner within UHN, and help the organization build future leadership capability and capacity, enhanced platforms for learning and education, as well as an integrated approach to process improvement and renewal. You will also work collaboratively with stakeholders to build and integrate change management capability across the organization.
  • You will deliver and design at the enterprise level, requiring strong diagnostic, influencing and stakeholder management abilities, within a uniquely complex healthcare environment.
  • You will share your subject matter expertise as a leader of a new Centre of Excellence (COE) within HR, which will include coaching, mentoring and building capability within the HRBP community, as well as the larger HR team.
  • You will develop metrics and monitor effectiveness of your work, recommending and implement improvements and iterations as needed.
  • You will integrate your work with other HR priorities, and partner successfully with the overall HR function as well as with the broader UHN leadership community.

Qualifications:

  • You are a high performer, adept at building productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • You hold a university or college degree/diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • You have at least eight (8) to ten (10) years progressive experience practicing a full range of performance, leadership, learning, organizational effectiveness and change management activities within complex organizations. Previous experience within healthcare would also be considered an asset.
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of performance, leadership, learning and change management best practices, supplemented with any relevant HR, OD/OE or change management certifications.
  • You have demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of leadership and learning programs including building related leadership frameworks, curriculum, and competency models.
  • You are strong facilitator, with experience driving decision making and dialogue with leadership teams on leadership, learning, and organizational effectiveness priorities.
  • You have a strong track record of leading diverse teams, providing clarity and direction, as well as overall coaching and mentoring support throughout
