Director of People and Culture

Eastlink is a family owned, entrepreneurial and innovative company headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, that has consistently been a leader in delivering creative competitive, customer focused telecommunications solutions.  Serving a customer base across seven provinces, Eastlink’s advanced solutions include Internet, Mobile, TV, Telephone, Security and Automation, Data Communications and exclusive, locally produced programming on Eastlink TV.

Eastlink is passionate about its team and about delivering an employee experience that attracts and retains the best!  Building on the foundation of the family culture that exists at Eastlink today, they are seeking a Director of People and Culture who can help re-invent the human resource function to one that creates, enhances and supports a best-in-class employee experience.  Through a partnership with the leadership team the Director of People and Culture will design and lead initiatives that support the company strategies and ensure an engaged, productive and efficient workforce.

Leading a team of human resources professionals, the Director, People and Culture is responsible for the development, alignment, and execution of Eastlink’s people and culture strategy. The accountability includes all aspects of talent acquisition, onboarding, and enablement, learning, rewards, employee experience, and workforce insights.  

As the ideal candidate, you are a proven business leader first and foremost, with a strong mix of strategic and hands-on operational experience.  You have demonstrated business acumen and are passionate about how you can bring value to the business.  You have demonstrated success in influencing and engaging with a leadership team within leading edge organizations with the courage and ability to challenge conventional thinking. You have a   transformation mindset and, through skillful and thoughtful communication and change management strategies, generate excitement and buy-in among staff and leadership to support the company’s vision and objectives. You are a strategic thinker but also hands-on and action oriented. You have a drive for results, a sense of urgency, and an ability to adapt to changes as they arise.
