Reporting to the Manager of Accounting/Deputy Treasurer, the successful applicant will support all aspects of payroll and administration of benefits for the Town of Bracebridge. Using accounting and finance software, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for administration and processing of payroll, including related reporting, remittances, reconciliations, and analysis as required. The individual will also administer the Town’s benefits program, including liaising with the benefits program provider and staff members. In addition, the individual will perform a full range of finance related duties and provide back-up assistance to other staff as required.  


The successful applicant must have post-secondary education in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.  Certification in, or demonstrated progress in attaining certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) is preferred.  Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of payroll and benefits administration and have at least three years of related work experience, preferably in a municipal environment. Excellent interpersonal, financial, project/time management, organizational, analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving are also required.


This is a Non-Union position with a salary range of $55,255 to $64,628 per year.
