Join the momentum. We are currently seeking a HR Specialist, M&A - Regional Human Capital to join our growing Regional Human Capital team. The ideal candidate would be located in Eastern Canada, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

The HR Specialist, M&A - Regional Human Capital will support the Firm in achieving its business and people objectives as it relates to the successful integration of mergers and acquisitions. They will apply a solid understanding of human resources practices and demonstrate MNP’s culture, values and brand.

Performance Expectations

Communication:

  • Supports the RHC Advisor on mergers & acquisitions as well as building processes and communication tools to provide streamlined and engaging experience for new team members
  • Coordinates and supports the RHC Advisor and other M&A team members with integration activities and to assure deadlines are attained
  • Work collaboratively with MNP merger team - Director, Culture & Process Integration, RHC Advisor, HC leadership and colleagues, cross-functional partners and stakeholders across the Firm to ensure success of integration
  • Develop and utilize a communication approach that fosters ease and quick relationships with newly merging team members and leaders
  • Support the RHC Advisor by updating and maintaining Merger Project Plans and regularly assess statuses of deliverables to ensure deadlines are met and day 1 readiness and onward is successfully achieved
  • Provide proactive and effective updates to MNP and joining Firm stakeholders on statuses, milestones, successes and challenges, providing leaders the information they need to effectively lead and support new team members through the transition

Integration:

  • Leads the Human Capital component in select mergers & acquisitions
  • Act as a connection between MNP and newly joined Partners and team members
  • Through an exemplary service focus, build relationships with the newly joined Partners and team members to help speed integration into MNP culture
  • Provide support to the RHC Advisor and team members on a wide range of HC issues including change management, culture, the application and understanding of policies & guidelines, employee relations, recruitment, and developmental opportunities ensuring alignment with Firm objectives
  • Gain an understanding and appreciation of current culture, leadership style, office dynamics and potential impacts on integration
  • Support the RHC Advisor with joining Firm’s team to gather employee data, policies, employment terms, and total rewards to allow for timely onboarding and transition analysis
  • Procure MNP welcome gifts and ensure onboarding packages are assembled and sent to new MNPers in advance of Day 1
  • Support RHC for Day 1 activities including developing RHC Presentation and Agenda
  • Following the last payroll of the merging firm, confirm that ROE’s and T4s have been distributed, closing balances for vacation, sick, personal and OT are gathered and loaded into HRIS and opening balances for EI and CPP are obtained and sent to MNP Payroll
  • Conduct program and terms transition analysis as well as benefits and retirement savings analysis to inform transition recommendations
  • In conjunction with HC leadership, develop transition recommendations and present to joining Firm leadership, working with together to determine transition terms
  • Draft transition letter template for merging leadership’s approval
  • Within the first 30 days of merger, develop transition and/or offer letters, documenting key dates employees will move to MNP policies, programs and terms as well as any grandfathered terms to be honored from merging firm
  • Support RHC in delivering transition letters to team members, answering questions and addressing any concerns
  • Work to have employment terms accurately captured in HRIS based on transition terms
  • Coordinate with the Payroll and MyRewards team to ensure related transition terms are implemented
  • Lead team to HC excellence and legislative compliance, working with merging leadership to determine OHS compliance and plan development for any areas of concern
  • Support connectivity with greater Firm and peers in other regions to drive a “One-Firm Approach”
  • To ensure a seamless transition experience, meet with local MNP HC to provide a detailed summary of key merger details, including the Merger Transition Summary, grandfathered terms or policies, employee performance concerns, recruitment needs and impressions of culture and leadership
  • Assist the Director, Culture & Process Integration in support of M&A deliverables
  • Other projects as assigned

Credentials

  • Post secondary education and accreditation with HR specialty or related academics
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in Human Resources or a Project Management role
  • Certified in Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in progress or completed is an asset
  • Previous experience in a professional services firm is an asset
  • Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions an asset
