Reporting to the Manager, Administrative Services, Quality Cheese Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be responsible for supporting management and employees on issues relating to recruitment, onboarding, company policy, training, performance management, benefits, health and safety, and employee relations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform recruitment of all ‘open’ positions, in consultation with management.
- Generate and distribute employment contracts and other relevant employment documentation.
- Conduct employee onboarding and organize training & development initiatives.
- Create or update job descriptions.
- Organize and plan employee annual performance reviews.
- Assist with administering disability claims following work related or non-work related injuries/illnesses and partner with management in implementing best practices for timely and safe return to work.
- Provide advice and support to management throughout the corrective action process, up to and including termination.
- Assist in maintaining, developing and implementing human resource policies and procedures.
- Administer group benefits and RRSP plan, providing information and support to employees as required.
- Coach management on issues related to policy, programs, process and legislation.
- Partner with management to ensure employee relations issues are handled promptly, professionally and effectively.
- Participate on the Health and Safety committee.
- Develop and implement Human Resources programs.
- Assist with Payroll processing.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education
- Minimum 5 years of generalist experience in HR, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
- CHRP designation preferred
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety, Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation
- Knowledge of benefits administration
- Knowledge of payroll processing an asset
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal, attention-to-detail and teamwork skills
- Able to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, frequent deadline environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to travel to multiple facilities in Ontario
