This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR Manager who wants to build the HR infrastructure from scratch, operate in an independent remote/virtual environment, be the sole HR practitioner and participate on the senior management team.

In this role, you will report to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for building, planning, organizing and carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Act as lead architect in building a new employee-based employment model.
  • Develop an HR operational plan including department goals, objectives and systems to align with Imagine’s vision and direction.
  • Develop and manage HR budgets to achieve the operational plan through partnership with Finance team.
  • Provide advice, counsel, guidance on legal implications and resolving employee relation issues.
  • Create and oversee policies, procedures and program development throughout the employee lifecycle and ensuring both are administered accordingly with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advocate and support continuous improvement of employee culture making sure it is aligned with the company’s vision and direction.
  • Administer various HR programs including recruitment (job descriptions/postings, advertising, screening, interviewing, extending offers, coordinating reference and criminal record checks, onboarding), compensation, training, employee engagement and performance management program and work in conjunction with the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Other related duties as required.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Post secondary training in Human Resources Management, CHRP designation, CHRL preferred.
  • 5 years experience as a generalist in a 24/7 residential, social services or healthcare setting.
  • Experience building an HR department from scratch.
  • Strong self management skills to work remotely, independently and manage multiple tasks at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Strong project management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership, influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Must have full, home office capabilities to work remotely and the ability to travel to Barrie, Sudbury and, Huntsville areas on an occasional basis.
