We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our Human Resources Department as the Human Resources Service Partner. This is a full-time permanent position.
The Position:
The Human Resources Service Partner is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the human resource function with a primary focus in assisting with all HR related matters including, employee relations and engagement, coordination of performance management/compensation, policies and procedure updates. As an HR Service Partner, the role will support the processes of recruitment and selection practices school wide.
Specific Accountabilities:
This role will champion HR initiatives that support Havergal’s talent strategy goals to enable a collaborative, engaged and high performing culture:
● Support people programs and initiatives relating to recruitment, performance management, competency development, HR communications, health, wellness/safety, employee engagement and professional development that contributes to an efficient and motivated workforce
● Develop and instill positive collaboration and credibility, building highly effective relationships with key internal stakeholders that facilitate buy-in and commitment
● Update policies, procedures and practices with recommendations to management as needed for improvement and/or compliance with legislation
● Assist with the day-to-day administration of HR activities including, employee offer letters, contracts, general employee correspondence, announcements and vendor correspondence
● Manage and maintain updated employee files including updates to the HRIS
● Manage and maintain up to date organizational charts
● Maintain a positive employee relations climate by responding to employee questions and concerns, responding proactively to employee benefit and payroll queries including employee leave management
● Stay aware of Human Resources trends and changes in provincial and federal laws, regulations, accreditations and legislation that impact the organization’s human capital assets
● Manage the tracking of HR metrics to measure the value and effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs
● Perform full lifecycle recruiting initiatives, from job description and posting development to reviewing resumes and pre-screening, performing detailed reference checking, preparing offers of employment and conducting employee orientation and onboarding
● Participate as needed in the Joint Health and Safety Committee
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Post-secondary education
- Proven HR Generalist experience with a CHRP designation
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience across multiple HR disciplines
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and HR policy and process issues,
- High emotional intelligence, unphased by ambiguity, with a mature and proactive results-oriented attitude
- Strong judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong writing skills and previous experience in employee communications
