Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience
  • Working towards CHRP designation preferred or equivalent designation in a related field
  • Knowledge of healthcare labour market demands and trends preferred
  • 3 years recent recruitment experience within a unionized environment
  • Recent working experience with behavioural-based interviewing
  • Proven understanding of the applicability of employment law and collective agreement provisions to upholding recruitment and selection decisions
  • Working knowledge of HRIS
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation and marketing skills
  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and can work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Internet search skills
  • Evidence of satisfactory attendance record
  • An employee’s disciplinary record will be reviewed as part of the assessment of qualifications
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the centre’s core values and helps patients get their life back
  • Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors

Accountabilities:

  • Recruitment of unionized and non-union positions in conjunction with hiring managers including reviewing job postings, interviewing and pre-placement testing.
  • Responsible to conduct screening and reference checks process on applicable prospective new talent.
  • Makes formalized job offers for candidates to applicable under client portfolio.  
  • Review and identify advertising and social media possibilities for relevant job postings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate outreach activities, including coordination and participation in career fairs.
  • Coordinate the centre-wide orientation program to ensure that all new employees attend the closest designated orientation date to their date of hire.  Evaluation and implementation of recruitment and selection practices and other talent management practices.
  • Work on projects such as revising the orientation program, developing an annual recruitment plan
  • Other duties as assigned

West Park Healthcare Centre helps patients get their lives back by providing inpatient, outpatient and outreach services in specialized rehabilitative and complex care after a life-altering illness or injury such as lung disease, amputation, stroke, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.  By 2021, West Park’s 27-acre site will be transformed into an integrated campus of care, including a new hospital building and additional community supports such as assisted living for persons with disabilities and seniors.  This transformation enables the Centre to evolve its rehabilitative programs and strengthen links to community-based services to meet the future healthcare needs of our local community and the province.
