Recruiting Specialist, Human Resources

JOB PURPOSE

The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and administering the Law Society’s recruitment and selection processes, with the primary focus on the acquisition of talent, thereby supporting the strategic direction of the Law Society. The Recruiting Specialist promotes positive candidate experiences by building strong relationships with job seekers and by marketing the Law Society as an employer of choice. The Recruiting Specialist assesses, identifies, attracts and recruits strong talent for entry to executive level positions, partners with hiring manager clients to provide consultative, high-touch full-cycle recruitment, manages employment agency partnerships, and supports secondment processes for employee development. The Recruiting Specialist provides expertise, guidance and recommendations on best practices related to recruitment matters. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A university degree in business, human resources management or related field, or relevant work experience.  
  • CHRP/CHRL designation and Registered Professional Recruiter certification considered assets.
  • The Recruiting Specialist, Human Resources requires proven high-touch, consultative recruitment function experience, along with sophisticated organizational and administrative skills. Significant experience building strong relationships with clients, management and staff, and to function with nominal supervision, is needed.  
  • A minimum 7 of years’ progressive experience in change oriented, consultative corporate human resources environment is required.
  • Corporate high touch full-cycle recruitment experience with a reputation for accountability and delivering high quality results within tight timelines.
  • Strong sense of urgency, solid time management skills with exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple roles and tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness and ability to handle administrative processes associated with recruitment.
  • Strong team player who has the ability to build relationships and work with tact and discretion with internal and external stakeholders including employees, managers, executives, vendors and consultants.
  • In depth knowledge of Employment, Human Rights and related legislation as it relates to recruitment, selection and employment contracts and effective human resources services delivery.
  • Speaks and writes in a clear, articulate manner for individual and/or group situations.
  • Ability to remain calm under difficult, or stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to behave in a manner which is discreet, confidential and sensitive to the personal and professional needs of others.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of best practices with respect to recruitment and selection strategies and practices:
    • Recruitment and selection techniques
    • Attraction and retention strategies
    • Recruitment related metrics and data analysis
  • Knowledge and familiarity with on‑line recruiting including the use of Social Media.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems. iCIMS and/or Dayforce experience an asset.
  • Experience using psychometric assessment tools, in particular, DISC, is an asset, and in providing feedback and coaching on results.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Adobe, DocuSign, SharePoint, videoconferencing and database software.
