Hannam Fertility Centre provides a full range of fertility services, from educational visits and cycle monitoring to the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques available in Canada, including IVF, ICSI, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, and egg freezing. The Hannam Fertility Centre’s Natural Conception Program (NCP) is designed to support individuals and couples wanting to conceive with minimal invention. From investigations to treatments, the focus of this program is on personal empowerment, limited intervention and working with our partners in health whenever possible.

People who most benefit from this program include those who are likely fertile, but simply need access to donor sperm, individuals that may need assistance with the timing of their cycle or those with a diagnosis of PCOS. The program honors family diversity and provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for those wanting to build a family. The NCP program consists of four family physicians who have experience in Fertility.

The Role Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist runs the daily operations of the HR department to ensure an effective and efficient support system for Hannam Fertility Centre (HFC). The HR Generalist performs a range of duties supporting HFC and its employees including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and managing/enforcing company policies and practices. 

The Duties:

Human Resource Functions
•    Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
•    Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
•    Manage recruitment
o    Develop and update job descriptions as needed 
o    Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required
o    Manage all aspects of job postings including posting on-line, resume review, pre-screening, phone interview, reference checks, and rejection letters
•    Employee Engagement
o    Event planning and coordination, training/orientation and onboarding activities, coordination of employee lists, exit interviews, etc.
•    Performance Appraisal
o    Ensure the annual performance appraisals are completed and input into ADP as required.  
•    ADP training 
o    Conduct ADP training for managers and new hires, develop SOPs for ADP updates
o    Train employees as needed on the performance management process via ADP
•    Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance 
•    Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (Quarterly meetings, JHSC secretary, Monthly inspections, Certified member)

Human Resources Administration
•    Maintenance of HR Personnel Files – electronic and physical records
•    Payroll processing, benefits, RSP, and EAP administration 
•    Ongoing maintenance of employee ADP records with training, certifications, etc.
o    Collaborate with departments to ensure that all credentialing is current
•    Document creation
o    Employment contracts, Employee letters, etc.
o    HR policies and procedures – create and update as necessary, in conjunction with the Director of Operations
•    HR Metric tracking, including data entry, and analysis
•    Process EI and other government employee information requests
•    Perform Administrative requests for new employees and others, as necessary i.e., Access cards, IT, scrubs, new hire profiles, etc.
•    WSIB
•    Support Director of Operations with other tasks, as needed
 

The Qualifications:

•    Post-secondary education with a Human Resources focus, either degree or diploma
•    3-5 years of experience in a Human Resource role
•    CHRP designation, or equivalent
•    Computer literacy, including proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•    Small or Mid-size Enterprise experience with a background of working in multiple areas of HR
