Position Details

Euro Tile & Stone is looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead its companywide HR activities. You will have the opportunity to drive growth and success across all levels of the organization. Join us as part of our growing team.

Summary of the Role

The Human Resources Manager reports to the VP Operations. The Human Resources Manager will provide support and advice to managers and employees on a wide range of issues such as performance management, recruitment, health and safety, compensation, and employee relations in support of our vision and values. In addition to day-to-day HR operations, the Human Resources Manager will develop and implement company wide HR programs and policies to help support the growth and overall strategy of the business.  

This includes:

  • Manage all day-to-day HR operations and administrative requirements for the organization across all locations.
  • Organize and administer human resources, personnel, training files and databases.
  • Ensure the proactive compliance with HR laws, regulations and requirements and provide advice and guidance to managers and employees in their application.
  • While not responsible for payroll, work closely with the Finance team on any pay adjustments, benefits and other forms of compensation.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters including performance management, progressive discipline, workplace accommodations, etc.
  • Develop internal communications to employees to support employee engagement and internal messaging.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the senior leadership, a human resources plan that supports the growth and aligns with the direction of the business.
  • Executes the HR plan including development and management of programs that support recruitment, compensation, performance management, retention, and engagement.
  • Manage recruiting including employer branding, assistance with the development of job descriptions, job postings and interviews.
  • Develop and manage on-boarding processes to ensure the effective integration of new employees.
  • Review and update company-wide HR policies and programs, as required.
  • Identify training needs and gaps in close cooperation with managers; ensure all legal and statutory training requirements are met; you may be required to plan and organize in-house training on a range of subject matters.
  • Oversee and organize exit interviews and related processes.
  • Develop and maintain human resource metrics to assess and measure the effectiveness of human resources programs and service delivery.
  • Manage annual reviews including performance, salary, commissions, bonuses, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Undergraduate degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business, Legal or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Professional, personable, and diplomatic.
  • Solid background in employee relations and performance management.
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced and results oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR Best Practices.
  • Strong background in the techniques of full cycle recruitment.
  • Strong service attitude along with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Exhibits energy, strong desire to achieve, high level of dedication.
  • Focuses on how the role fits into high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them.
  • Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes with complexity and change.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop and monitor budgets and manage costs.
  • Can filter information to make decisions using appropriate judgement.
  • Speaks and writes clearly and articulately without being overly verbose. Maintains this standard in all forms of written communication, including e-mail.
  • Acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to the company and can build new initiatives/programs.
  • Exhibits passion and excitement over work. Has a can-do attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Nice to Haves:

  • CHRP or CHRL designation considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working with a wholesale, distribution, industrial, manufacturing or other type of company with a large labour workforce considered an asset.
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial setting or growth company considered an asset.
