Job Description

Due to our rapidly growing company, DCR Systems Group Inc. has an immediate requirement for a part-time Human Resources Business Partner!

We are looking for someone with 7+ years of diverse human resources experience, in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days per week, onsite at our Richmond Hill location.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Policies and Procedures - updating HR policies, procedures and the employee handbook in accordance with applicable legislation changes and business needs, communicating updates and changes to all employees;
  • Recruitment and Talent Management - developing recruitment processes, working with hiring managers, building candidate pipelines, background checks, developing employee engagement programs, workforce planning, researching potential assessment tools, executing our day-to-day hiring needs;
  • Onboarding - enhancing and managing the onboarding process in order to create a positive first impression for new hires and ensure all training requirements are met for compliance;
  • Training and Development - identify training opportunities, develop, coordinate and facilitate training as required;
  • Payroll – ADP Workforce experience is preferred - administer/manage processes such as processing new hires, salary changes; etc.
  • Benefits – administer/manage enrollment into benefits plans, process changes, terminate members, etc. Greenshield Canada & Manulife experience is preferred
  • Disability/Attendance Management - work closely with employees and management to ensure that leaves of absence, both occupational and non-occupational (Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability & WSIB) are managed effectively and efficiently; includes the development of return to work plans and liaison with external health care providers, insurers, etc.
  • Performance Management – review and manage the appraisal process, coach managers and employees on performance issues; draft corrective actions; etc.
  • Employee and Management Relations - develop relationships with employees and managers in order to act as a trusted advisor, help managers build and maintain high performing teams;
  • Investigation – complete, thorough and unbiased investigations
  • Health and Safety – working with the Health & Safety Committee to ensure the company is compliant with legislation, attend JH&S meetings, ensure action items are carried out, and maintain records;
  • Other HR Duties as required or assigned such as maintain employee records, drafting HR Memos, etc.
  • Experience working in Sage 300 ERP is a definite bonus!

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Business Degree with an HR minor

• CHRP/L Certification, HRPA membership

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive generalist experience in Human Resources;

• Superior knowledge of employment legislation in Ontario, employee relations and HR best practices;

• Ability to work well autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment;

• Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information;

• Demonstrated strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills;

• Flexible and adaptable;

• Effective interpersonal skills, including tactfulness, persistence, assertiveness and strong listening skills;

• Able to manage competing priorities and concurrent deadlines;

• Proficient use of computer software/technology;

• Detail and results-oriented;

• Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, initiative and creativity to ever changing needs and situations;

• Previous experience as the sole HR resource for an organization is a definite asset.
