The Corporation of The City of North Bay is accepting applications for the position of Director, Human Resources. We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, experienced and strategic Human Resources leader to provide leadership and strategic direction on Human Resources objectives and practices that encourage and support a culture emphasizing corporate excellence, quality and productivity, empowerment, goal attainment, workplace risk management and the recruitment, ongoing development and retention of a superior workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in support of corporate strategic priorities
- Advise City Council on strategic Human Resources issues
- Develop, implement and oversee programs that support organizational and staff development
- Foster and support positive labour relations
- Encourage and support effective workplace risk management and disability management
- Promote and support effective recruitment and staff retention
The successful candidate will possess the following key qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resources Management or related degree; preference will be given to candidates possessing a Masters degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration
- CHRL Designation is an asset
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in progressively responsible Human Resources positions within a unionized environment
- Demonstrated ability to build cooperative, collaborative working relationships
- Demonstrated excellence in professionalism; judgement; confidentiality; tact and discretion
- Demonstrated experience in organizational and staff development
- Demonstrated experience in leading collective bargaining teams and labour/employee relations management
- Demonstrated experience in workplace risk management and disability management
- Sound knowledge of the legislative environment relating to employment
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
