The Human Resources Business Partner is an essential, strategic resource and partner for our frontline and senior managers across all operational departments.  They provide support and assistance for the leaders’ growth and development by establishing strong relationships and liaising with our centres of excellence.  They offer strategic consultative services to support a wide range of leadership management opportunities within our unionized and non-unionized work groups.  

Strategic support for leaders of leaders 

Growth and development support for leaders of leaders 

Relationship building with union and employee association partners  

Consultative/advisory point of contact for high level employee and labour relations issues 

Collective Bargaining Agreement implementation 

Grievance hearings and negotiations  

Succession planning and talent management for leaders of leaders  

Collaborative approach with centres of excellence  

 

Qualifications 

5-7 years HR generalist experience required; 2+ years in strategic HR support and/or fast-paced, high volume operational experience strong asset  

Labour Relations and union negotiations experience a strong asset, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation and implementation  

Ability to manage expectations of, and support, high volume of multiple stakeholders from different departments  

Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and align outcomes throughout the organization 

Proactive thinking skills with focus on organizational objectives 

Results oriented with a coaching mindset 

Embraces and works comfortably with ambiguity 

Knowledge of Human Resources legislation 

Airline experience considered an asset 

Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Employment Law, Labour/Industrial Relations or related field required 

CHRP/CPHR designation required
