Summary:
The HR Associate will report to the HR Director, and will be involved in various critical HR functions, from Talent Acquisition and Onboarding to Employee Relations. In this role, the HR Associate will work with HR partners and stakeholders within MUFG Bank, Canada and the Americas to align to policies and procedures, streamline processes and contribute to business and organizational goals.
Accountabilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Partner with Hiring Managers and Recruiters to fill open requisitions ensuring alignment with the local Recruitment policy and procedures
- Create effective job postings to attract diverse talent to the organization and enhance the overall recruiting experience
- Assist with creation of weekly reports to track status of open positions and metrics to measure success.
- Lead the Onboarding process for new hires in Canada to ensure due diligence is completed in a timely manner to comply with legislation and procedures and create a positive onboarding experience
Talent Management & Engagement:
- Assist with Talent Review that includes recording Talent assessments and Succession Plans for Canada Executives
- Lead the implementation of the annual Employee Survey; track completion metrics; coordinate action plans to align regionally and monitor progress periodically
Employee Relations:
- Respond to employee questions on HR policies and programs in a timely manner
- Be the point of contact for managers and employees on performance related issues
- Assist with employee investigations on breach of code of conduct and disciplinary actions
- Plan, organize and support business leaders and managers with employee disengagements
- Facilitate off-boarding of employees; conduct exit interviews and summarize themes for quarterly reporting.
HR Management:
- Assist HRBP with strategy presentations to the Executive Committee Assist with Business Continuity activities and partner with the subject matter expert on managing confidential information as required Assist with HR project planning and implementation for Canada as required Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- 5 to 7 years’ Experience in an HR generalist role with at least 2 years in Talent Acquisition ; Onboarding and 1 to 2 years in Employee Relations
- Work experience in the financial services industry is preferred
- Familiarity with Dayforce and Workday is an added advantage
- Good business acumen to understand the business and the environment in which they operate
- Strong relationship skills to partner with the business, employees and candidates
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent executive presentation skills, translating data insights to storytelling
- Well organized and an ability to effectively coordinate activities
- Results and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Collaborative partnering and strong focus on team
- Proficient in Powerpoint, Word and Excel
Education:
- Undergraduate degree with a specialization in Business or Economics
- CHRP designation is an asset
